Creating the portfolio

To present the work on the web instead of making a gallery for the images like on my first term I created a portfolio, using Indesign and loosely inspiring myself on the following template from Flipsnack:

The most common sizes for portfolios are 11"x14" and 14"x17", so I chose the biggest one.

Since my theme for the project was Ultimate black I looked for black images I could use as my cover on Pexels, finding a few that I liked. I chose the least busy one so that the viewer's attention would be on the text and not on the background.

Using the web Fontjoy I looked for Sans Serif, rounded and thin fonts that looked good together. I needed either two fonts that worked well together or one I could use in different character types ( bold, regular, italic, thin...). These were my favourite combinations:
On the left, Roboto as the title and Open Sans Light for the text. On the right, Nexa regular for the title and Nexa light for the text. In the end, I chose the right option, since I believe titles need to be bolder to catch the attention of the viewer and the text should be rounder to ease the reading. Similarly, since the font is rounder, I think it suits better with the organic shapes of the collection.
