Continuation Route: Fashion Buying with Design

Project Title: Liquid Black

Project Aims and Objectives: Theme Ultimate Black For my set project this term I have chosen the theme Ultimate Black. I will be creating a collection of clothes and doing research that has to do with Fashion Buying as well since that is my progression route.  I will be creating 4 2D designs and a 3D one, but the number of designs might change after my project sign off.  To draw the 2D pieces, I will be using Krita and for the 3D one, I will explore sewing and pleating techniques. The collection will be aimed towards women aged 20-30 years and it will have an elegant, avant-garde style with very organic shapes, as I showed on the initial ideas post on the "liquid" mood board. I am looking for organic shapes that evoke movement and flow. Since the theme is Ultimate Black I will use dark tones for my collection, but most surely I will use silver accessories, colour shoes and eccentric hairstyles that enhance the darkness of the designs. The 5 piece collection will be elegant, high-end style for Autumn/Winter 2021/2022. I will be looking at haute couture designers such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior. In addition to the collection, I will create a flipbook on Indesign, similarly to the last term. This will picture the trend research, customer profiles, marketing strategies and other aspects that have to do with fashion buying. I have 9 weeks to complete this project and all the process will be documented on my blog, meanwhile, the final outcomes and the flipbook will be uploaded to my wix website. Fabrics?
