Project plan

 In this post I will be answering some questions about my plan for this project:

1.Describe your major project object using the SMART acronym

The theme for my project is Bosch's Earthly Delights painting. I will design a capsule collection of 3 looks and I will work on the fashion buying aspect of the collection as well, creating a customer profile, researching on Pull & Bear ( the brand the collection would be for) and trend forecasting.

2. WHy have you chosen to do this project?

When I was presented with the three themes I was instantly attracted to this one because I recently discovered that the Earthly Delights is my favourite painting, and it has already inspired me in the past to do a few drawings.

3.Who are you researching for this project?

I will be looking at Pull & Bear and her sister brand Bershka to follow the brand's guidelines and vision, but I am researching Moschino as well and Kesley, a former fashion buying student.

4. What techniques/skills are you developing/learning for this project?

For the fashion buying part of the project I am starting from scratch, and I will be learning about customer profiles, trend forecasting, marketing strategies, and many other aspects of fashion buying. 

As well, I will be presenting my project on a portfolio document, which means that I will be developing my issue and Indesign skills.

5. What do you expect the final outcome of the project to be?

A collection good enough to be in a real Pull & Bear shop that people would buy.

6. What have you completed so far for this project?

I have done initial research on Bosch's symbolism, previous P&B and Bershka collections, fashion buying flipbooks and Moschino's collections.

7. What do you think will be the issues/drawbacks to the project?

Since I intend to create a prêt-a-porter streetwear collection, there is a risk that the collection will end up being too boring or bland because of how "accessible" and mainstream P&B is. On the other hand, if I am too creative and original, the designs wouldn't be suitable for P&B and their customers.

8. What is your timescale considering that this has to be completed by week 10?

W3, obtain the image and information agrees from my friend Claudia to use her as my customer profile. Research on Bosch and p&b.

W4 write a summary about what I learnt from the research, do the first sketches for the design. Research on how to do the fashion buying part of the collection.

W5 keep developing the sketches and designs. More research on fashion buying if needed. Create a customer profile.

W6 trend forecasting and adapting my sketches to it. Refine my sketches.

W7 testing Issuu and Indesign. Designing the visual aspect of my flipbook.

W8 deciding on marketing strategies and materials for the collection. Finalising my designs.

W9 finishing the flipbook and posting it on my website. Receive feedback and improve my project based on it.

9. What resources or materials will you be needing for this project?

I will be doing all of it digitally, so I only need my laptop with internet to research, Krita to draw and Issuu/Indesign for the flipbook.

10. Draw a picture/Write a sentence/sketch a story/write a dialogue that captures the essence of your project.

Because art is for everyone.
