Research class exercise
Here are some questions we have to answer for today's activity (12/11/2020). We have to do this during class in 20 minutes and then publish here our answers.
1.Name something you have researched in the past for art design or media:
For my major project I have researched the concept of contrast.
2.Explain how you researched this:
I wanted to know more about the different types of contrast in design so I did a google search, where I found a Canvas post that mentioned many of them, Designing with Contrast. After that I went to the Kimberly Library digital web, where I looked for online books about contrast and colour theory. I refined my search by looking for texts in languages I know and I excluded disciplines that I knew would not be useful for me like medicine or engineering. There were still 6000000 results, but I knew they were going to be relevant. After selecting a few documents I did a new search for "visual composition" and read some of the texts that I thought would be relevant.
3.What facts did you discover?:
There are plenty more kinds of contrast than the ones I thought and the concept of contrast has not been as deeply explored in a design context as I thought it would.
4.What new conclusions did you establish?:
yt
Research in my major project
For this I will be considering the trends for the season of my collection, the current global situation and other cultural and social factors.
Research through my major project
I explored different fabrics and their uses and decided than the most appropiate one for my collection are tulle and cotton.
To illustrate I will be using Krita but I intend to learn how to use Photoshop in more depth so I might explore that software as well. I will use Indesign for the template and other aspects of the design that don't involve the acrtual illustration process.
Research for my major project
I have looked at the concept of Ignorant tattoos, specifically ones that will contrast with the style and colors of Teuta Matoshi's work, which I have also researched.
I think you do need to add what you discovered and what you learnt as this section is not completed - this is brief but I am hoping that your won research following this will be in much more depth
