Research for my web

In order to continue with the design of my web I have been doing some research to gain inspiration and knowledge on how to do it correctly.

First, I decided to visit one of my favourite artists, Jono Dry Art. Even though his content is different to mine I would really like to be able to have such a clean and contrasting layout. I feel like the way his page is designed makes his artworks very powerful and eye-catching, especially for the colour contrast. Here are some screenshots:

After this I searched for some webs that were about fashion, and I found two that I felt could be relevant for my research. The first one is the Italian digital magazine Collezioni, specialised journalism on runways and the newest trends and collections. They cover every sector ( men, women, sportswear, children, etc.) and I feel that, structure wise, I can learn from the fonts they use, their sizes and arrangements. While scrolling through the web I feel that it is very readable and visually pleasing.

I had the same feeling while looking through the next page, Katarina Grey, because of how well kept and harmonious it is. But this time it is because of the colours and images, not the text.

From this research I have decided that I want a calming and elegant web to present my collection in, and therefore I should use neutral tones and grey, thin letters so I will be able to convey the same feeling as these webs I just talked about.

Here are the links for the resources I used:

  1. I can clearly see your inspiration and I love it as it is also something I am trying to achieve. I think you could write a little bit more about these artists, but it is a good research on websites.
